You can see a track listing for vol. 2 here: http://boomkat.com/products/king-jammys ... -1984-1991, or here: http://www.beatport.com/release/king-ja ... 91/1960189

It is 15 vocals and 5 dubs, so this is likely the track listing for the 2-LP. The Amazon link is for a CD, and if it follows the example of the first volume it could have more tracks (the first volume has 20 vocals and 15 dubs on the 2-CD), but the Amazon description also says it's one disc, so if that is correct then probably the LP and CD will be identical for these following volumes.

If I understand it correctly there is also a fifth one to come.

Thanks 99th, compilation looks tasty and very little crossover with other released CD comps it seems. (at least the ones that I have). At first glance I only recognise the Half Pint track.

is that what the first riddim is, father jungle rock? Always loved this LP from when it was first released, but never knew that riddim. This was the first computer riddim LP I bought that I dug all the way through.

It's similar to Father Jungle Rock, but it's something else and I can't place it at the moment.
One Father Jungle Rock example is Dennis Brown - Material Girl https://youtu.be/9Qvmy_TfI0g

jb, that video was pure fire! I guess I'd forgotten how great Stitchie was/is. All of them are on top form and having so much fun! Great video, thanks for sharing.
Jammy looks so happy at the board too.

Oh yeah I think of that as the riddim to Warrior by jr Delgado, which it is noted as much if I had read it more carefully. I really dug the real rock version used on the other tracks too.

Thanks to bredrin bigvein from elsewhere for that clip, I just thought it fit the subject matter well. Excellent set especially Josie wales I thought.

The first riddim on the video is Lt Stitchie's "Wear Yu Size", with Stitchie himself toasting it. A full LP of the riddim can be found on "Superstars Hit Parade Volume 3":

Re: King Jammy compilations - 1 Q

I received a copy of vol 1 (2 x CD) last week via amazon.co.uk. Cost around GBP14 incl postage. I have many of the tunes already on CD1 but the instrumental versions on CD2 have been a real treat, at least to my ears.

There is minimal info on the rather nice paper and card sleeves (featuring the usual Beth Lesser shot of the studio exterior inside plus the famous portrait of the King in his mysteriously pre-shrunk Super Power t-shirt on the cover) - which is a bit jarring with the quality of the sound and packaging.

One question: the P & C date is 2011 - why so long before release or is that a typo?
Cheers!

Volume 1 was definitely first released a few years ago, Ben, so 2011 is probably right. My copy of volume 2 landed yesterday and on first listen sounds excellent - apart from the Pint track there is nothing on there that I'd heard before.

The CD was released in 2011, it is the LP version which is the new release. The LP only has half of the tracks (15 vocals, 5 dubs).

It looks like the following volumes are one disc on CD, and I assume they will be identical to their vinyl counterparts...?
