In Jah Man of Syreen (Simon of Cyrene who helped Jesus to carry the cross) Big Youth says: "Christ carry the cross eighty and 2 miles, from Pilate's Hall down to Calvary." However, this would have taken about 2 days even with Simon's help, and whether or not the whole cross was being carried or just the crossbar. The distance is actually approx. 1.2km in a straight line or 1.5km including walking around the Temple. That's some difference!

It's "remember what the righteous man say".

I had bread on my table tonight. A nice sprouted rye bread roll (no, me neither) to go with a sausage casserole (pork and leek) that I'd made. To be honest the sausages weren't that great and the casserole itself (packet mix) lacked something - probably should've added some stock to it or something. The bread was about the best bit

But I think Minidub michele has it right and I think that is very perceptive, if it isn't correct than he should have written it that way!

well just listen for yourself.
it's clear to me and no one will really change my mind but everyone is different, that's for sure and true.

i don't hear anything close to "righteous" even though that is a word in many a lyrics, but i just don't think that is what's said in this instance...it's all about the first syllable.

i found this via the magic of the internet. a re-recorded version and it really sounds like 'round-face'

like i said...

to be honest, i think i've heard another tune with the "round-face man" reference to garvey...just can't remember what tune at the moment.
and i'm not 100% sure, just seems like it in the recesses of my memory.
but personally, i'm solid on this one!

I always thought he was saying righteous but following your comments I listened to a live performance on YouTube and it's not righteous but I can't hear round face either. This really is a mystery!
