This has been released on a 12" LP vinyl, I saw a pic of Macka B holding a copy on facebook the other day, I would imagine it should be available at all good records stores soon, its already up on Dub Vendor. Also the title track Never played a 45 came on a Peckings 7" with a tune called grapevine on the flip, unfortunately the copies of that 7" I have heard were pretty poor pressings on the Macka B side, the other side sounds fine.

I don't remember there being a problem with the sound of this tune on my 7". Will have to check though.

The 7" sounded fine but the b-side on my copy was noticeably louder.

I know, i was mentioning Lex's album -which has been postponed to no end on vinyl format.
I will wait until Macka B's album is available somewhere else, though. DV, like many other UK outlets has just become useless, due to postage and the pound being so high at the moment. It oftn takes quite some time before the Peckings bother to make it available elsewhere. Wrong move, once again !

My 7' never played a 45 plays fine too.

Shame that the vinyl is only 10 tracks and missing the Phylis Dillon combo

I thought that too, but my vinyl copy turned up in the post yesterday and its all 15 tracks from the CD squeezed onto vinyl too, so I think DV got their tracklist wrong for some reason...

As regards the 7" release of Never Played A 45, my copy sounds ok when I play it at home, but I did play it out at a party once on a bigger system and it sounded awful! Pretty ironic really.... shoulda stuck to mp3's!

Ah, nearly 2 years later and my befuddled lettuce filled brain has finally realised what the rhythm is behind Macka B's Too Much Chicken..... (drum roll) It's Prince Buster's Kings Of Old!
