Java Dub vs Java Java Java

Postby ice » Wed Jun 11, 2014 7:26 pm

after checking various web sources I do have a bit of a problem

first, there seems to be a record called "Java Java Dub"

both Roots Archives and discogs list the same songs

and then there is "Java Java Java" - listed both at Roots Archives and at discogs but with completely different tracks

Guiding Dub
Cheating Dub
E.T. Special
Soulful Dub
Ordinary Version Dub
Java Dub
Meet Me Dub
Black Man's Dub
King Babylon Dub
Hide Away Dub ... se/3003757

A1 Marabi
A2 Kelly's Place
A3 More Stars
A4 Rebel's Spot
A5 Dun-Kirk
B1 Java (Part 1)
B2 Java (Part 2)
B3 Black Man's World
B4 Bubble Strut
B5 Jam-Rock Reggae

could somebody shed some light?

As far as I know it was fisrt released as a instrumental / dub album, with no titles, except for those on the cover which were taped off. In the 80s it was re-released and some tracks were replaced by DJ versions. When the initial album was re-released the titles of the 80s release were adapted.
