So it's where a producer is based that defines sub genres ?

Dutch house, Swedish house & so on.

I was listening to a bit of Dubmatix earlier,
Must have been listening to Canadian Dub Then ?

I guess i must be old fashioned ,

Cause i still call everything Reggae.

true true. And everything that comes out of France is Euro dub.

I listen here sometimes to the local Jamaican radio channels in the evening. It's funny how radical different it is compared to those euro productions (180 degrees different) . Drum & bass, jungle, raggaton, bashment raggamuffin everything melted and mixed into one...
thank you putting this on here- best reggae track ever, apart from most bob marley tracks

Let me explain... you're from UK so you make UK Dub.. not Euro dub.

DC, we may need a referendum to decide this one. Shall we see how UKDP (UK Dub Party) does in this week's EuroDub elections?

Yes indeed...

No seriously, im not sure where the term Eurodub come from.

Thing is that producers in the UK took Ja reggae as a startingpoint and UK dub was born. Now the new generation take the UK dub as a startingpoint and is being done all over the world but a lot come from Europe.

Wouldn't it be more logical to say : "took what they liked about a certains sort of JA roots reggae, leaving a lot out of their formulas?"
Besides, there are a good number of musicians and producers in Europe who are absolutely not influenced by this UK dub scene and who still record dub, albeit with direct straight JA roots.
Are they euro dub too or ? Which shows that this sort of "tag" is meaningless.

Yes indeed,
[page 101 of the official rule book clearly states so].

If you want to make UK Dub, cross the border into the North,
things can get complex though as that part is divided between different factions.

Now things in the South are never black & white either,
many gray areas exist, especially in

DUB LIN :)

It's really difficult,

I live in Europe making dub. Sometimes i have a singer who lives in Ja, UK, Ethiopia and harmonies done by someone in USA, Horns from Asia.

Not sure how to tag that then.
