I found the ending price on ebay to have been very 'affordable' for such a legendary item, regardless of the condition it was in. From what I remember, it ended at around 500 usd (+ 600 usd shipping). It looks like it ended in good hands, even though i wouldnt mind it being in mine!

At the National Gallery in Kingston there's an interesting section dedicated to contemporary Jamaican arts.I guess that's the place these boxes should be.

I'd rather see them being used and traveling round the world than sitting in a museum.

I'm not sure they'd be any good to play music through any more. Good to see them archived as a piece of history.

In the Waxpoetic article, Jeremy indicates he's restaured them and that he uses them.

Thats all good, but it's more about the archiving than the actual sound… you could put a speaker in a shoe box and still play music.

Hey KingSimeon
They do play very well actually ! The owner paired them with the proper period correct amps etc. We are supposed to have some kind of video made at opening by the Sonos camp, I'll post link once I get it.

You can also hear what it sounds like on that video from the other show I curated and had the set play at in Paris last summer --song is recorded from the "Tubby" set playing, live. Not bad heh?
