Sunday morning,Oldies Time!

Postby johnnyB » Sun Jan 12, 2014 11:22 am

In the purest Jaimaican tradition Sunday morning over here at johnnyB's HQ is Oldies Time. These sounds really give Sunday a special flavour :D
This morning I had Miles Davis' "kind Of Blue",some Stax and Freddie's "Bobby Baylon".
Is there someone else keeping this tradition alive?

top draw selections there Johnny B......to be fair I find most days are Oldies Time....vintage classics.........but yes, particularly Sundays....

I plucked out this little number today.....Moody Blues

This morning I've played
Toyan - How the West Was Won
Wailing Souls - Fire House Rock
Cypress Hill - Temple of Boom

Next album cued up will be Rock-A-Shacka Vol. 20 - Sugar & Spice which I bought yesterday. A local record store has set up a Swedish distribution deal with Drum & Bass Records so that's nice I'll be able to pick them up here and not to have to order online and then have that tedious waiting for them to reach.

Mighty Maytones - Madness (Burning Sounds LP) -- I used to think it was a dull album and then one night it just dawned on me on exactly great it is.

Yesterday's Sunday music - Sam Cooke & The Soul Stirrers, Nat King Cole, The Impressions, Jimmy Liggins, Brook Benton, Donny Elbert, Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker (her birthday), Chaka Khan, Janet Jackson & loads more that only come out one day of the week. No JA at all. T.
