Mute Beat - Dub Wise - lost King Tubby's treasure!

Postby capullo » Sun Nov 17, 2013 10:02 pm

fantastic album! not really "lost" and not only tubbs but not well known either. japanese trumpet player Mute Beat aka KAZUFUMI KODAMA aka ECHOE did some fine productions mixed by the great dubmasters back in 1989. jazzy vibes!

MUTE BEAT, DUB WISE (8 tracks)
3 mixed by a Japanese mixer,IZUMI MIYAZAKI, in JPN.
2 by LEE PERRY and BULWACKIE at WACKIES N.J.
and 3 by KING TUBBY & FATMAN at TUFF GONG J.A.
Released in 1989

well, don't know what the arrangements were either. could be possible though... you never know. japanese are elusive when it comes to music.

the sleeve doesn't mention any dates. however this was tubby stuff done in September 1988 at tuff gong (so about 6 months before he got killed) the perry tracks voiced in February 89 in New York. the album itself came out in May 89.
thank you putting this on here- best reggae track ever, apart from most bob marley tracks

JB: I would think those are linoleum prints of Perry and Tubbs on the Mute Beat LP. And they are fantastic in my opinion! Wouldn't mind them framed on my wall. My girlfriend has made some nice linoleum prints of Jean-Paul Sartre, Delroy Wilson and a Swedish author called Fritiof Nilsson the Pirate. It's great fun making the originals to print from.

IMHO, this is very unlikely. It's much more likely to be Scientist at Tuff Gong.
