Reggae in Dar es Salaam?

Postby Blindman » Thu Nov 14, 2013 8:13 pm

Hi guys
Right now im living in Kenya in east Africa and the next two weeks i spent some holidays in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. Therefore i would like to hear if anybody could recommend some places where it would be possible to catch some good reggae/dancehall vibes - live band or sound session. I´ve tried to search on google but it has been a little bit difficult to find something. Hope you guys can help me.

Thanks in advance!
Blessings
And have a lovely day!

Why not check out the local music instead?

Talking about that. I once was in a neighborhood in Nairobi (Hurlingham) and there was a small church there (surprise surprise..)there was a group playing at that moment, you could hear it from a mile away.. Christian orientated lyrics but in terms of sound It could have been the deepest darkest baddest Jamaican roots. Pure wickedness. Still have a small video recording of it somewhere..reminded me strongly of Michael Blackamoore - open up.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moxG0PPTCo8

Don't know what that church was about exactly.. some cult or sect group I suppose..
thank you putting this on here- best reggae track ever, apart from most bob marley tracks
