CLASH OF THE DUBPLATES SOUNDCLASH

Postby Brimstone » Mon Aug 19, 2013 7:41 pm

Wow!! What an event.
Some serious killer dubplate specials unleashed from all the sounds that participated in the contest - Heartical, Youthman Promotion, King Tubby and Sir Coxsone.
Heartical's Lee Perry dubplate was tops, Youthman Promotion's Garnett Silk, Tenor Saw and Michael Rose dubs set the place alight, King Tubby's Shaggy and Bunny Wailer dubs were a class, and Sir Coxsone's Barrington Levy and Junior Reid dubs did some damage.
The place was packed and the atmosphere was electric, with no bad vibes, just some real good memories.
The downside and somewhat dampening of the event was the controversy caused when Sir Coxsone were 'declared' clash winners although they had broken a few rules.
Youthman Promotion were the obvious winners in all rounds and crowd favourites, who evidentally beat Sir Coxsone in their opening encounter. The latter, bizarrely playing 45s in the first round which was against the clash rules!!! So big up to Youthman Promotion who were deserved champions.
This clash will be spoken about for a long time, let's hope 2014 will be as good this year's. Boom!!!!
