///He was just a mentally unstable man who's notoriety was due to his getting drunk/taking drugs before a "performance", shitting on stage, covering himself in faeces, smashing bottles on his head while screaming obscenities, just a silly little man who couldn't function in normal society.////

...I'd like to quote one of GG's songs:

I'm a friendless man. Obedient to the fact
that I am not here to make anybody happy.
I need the open road, will see the over looking of burning bridges.
Futuristic realities leading me to an open room.
Isolating the inferior world...

I hate people
They mean nothing to me
I hate people
I hate society

I think he was so much more than just a "silly little man". This is his last (or one of his last) interview on Jane Whitney: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvKOW6UoiGQ

I am sure Jane could function pretty well in so called normal society but who remembers her today?

How come people still remember the "silly little man who couldn't function in normal society" instead?

I think the guy by the name of Steve Rogers who appears @ 28.25 in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvKOW6UoiGQ is a silly little man but not GG.

///Jello Biafra did this far far better.//// Kennedys did their thing and Allin did his. I don't ever compare them as they're pretty much incomparable.

In which one? In the category of "people" or of "those who hate people"?

Come one, back in the day, GG's stuff was at best bargain bin fare - of course the visual-olfactive elements were missing from his records! :D

To me GG Allin wasn't really about broken bottles, feces, onstage fights, drugs, Jim Beam etc. Honestly I don't care much about that. Look beyond the surface and you will find a totally different dimention of GG's music.
