Let's remember GG Allin who died exactly 20 years ago

Postby Roman » Fri Jun 28, 2013 8:56 am

I am thinking of the legendary GG Allin today, who left this earth and flied away to Heaven exactly 20 years ago (he died on June 28, 1993).

What can we say about GG? Wasn't he a real Hero, a true Freedom Fighter, wan't he one of those who sacrificed themselves for freedom of speech in the US and in the rest of the world? One thing is for sure: GG has done so much more for democracy than Obama or any other US president. Or any other president or prime minister.

So let's play his music today, let's play it loud, really loud! Let's sing his great songs! No matter what your neighbours/wifes/children/parents/colleagues etc may say or do.

Let's light up the torch of Freedom!

What are your favorite GG Allin songs?

Well I never thought I'd see GG get a thread on here.

Bite it you scum pretty much defined my summer when I was about 15.

Why not? I think the least he deserves is a little thread on the Blood & Fire message board. "Bite It You Scum" is a wicked tune indeed! Don't forget "Fuсk Authority" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmPig8Zkxvo

Sorry Roman,

I don't agree with any of your thoughts.
Do you really believe 'Freedom Fighters' just want to say anything that comes out of their mouth ?
Do you think 'Freedom Fighters' choose to be dirty & unwashed ?

I think the guy you refer to was a shock rock kind of guy, trying to get attention .
Destroying souls with drugs & alcohol is really sad, life is precious.

I guess some rebellious teens might think different.......

Freedom of speech you say ?
Does that include freedom to hate ?

A friend of mine saw GG Allin live in the US once & said GG took a dump and began chasing around onlookers/fans around the club ,who fled like a school of fish, while threatening to fling his **** on them.... seemed a very disturbed individual!

Yes, eating your own **** on stage has done a lot for democracy.

Of course 'Freedom Fighters' want to say things that come out of their mouth. Just like anyoine else in this world I suppose )

Why not?

I think GG had a slightly different point of view - posting a couple of his songs - maybe you'll find some answer in the ly:

GG Allin could have reached commercial success - he was a very good drummer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RViUGY-60cs and had a nice singing voice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjCjlVh9o5A But he never wanted. I don't think GG was trying to get attention, I think he wanted to spread some anti-social message to the world.

Just trying to understand where you are coming from ?

i noticed you add this guys name to several posts in forum, wondering your reasoning ?

I do understand forums are not good places to get messages across, lots get lost in translation.

I've heard some pretty wild things about GG. One... that he had openly planned to commit suicide by bombing a random stage performance and taking the lucky fans with him. Fortunately he died from a heroin overdose before he could, to the best of my knowledge. I can't get on board with this guy. I see him as nothing more than a deranged spectacle and a deeply troubled human being. R.I.P.

And his music is just horrible.

He was just a mentally unstable man who's notoriety was due to his getting drunk/taking drugs before a "performance", shitting on stage, covering himself in faeces, smashing bottles on his head while screaming obscenities, just a silly little man who couldn't function in normal society.

Nothing more, nothing less. pretty pathetic really.

:D

His message mainly consisted of anti-corporatism and anti-establishmentism
