Postby skunkride » Sat Jun 08, 2013 8:40 am

Just saw this one on Honest Jons - interesting compilation from the Congo label :

http://www.honestjons.com/shop.php?pid=42562&CatID=2

Makka Bees - Nation Fiddler / Jah Lion - Melody For Negus / Good Relations Featuring Jimmy Lindsay - What You Gonna Do / Jah B - One Love / Twylight - Stand Firm / Jah Lion - Jah Is Real / Burning Bush Featuring Flashy B - Hail The Emperor / Jah B - Be Free / Twylight - Susan / Jah Lion - All Jah Children / Tojo - Mother Country / Makka Bees - Fire / Jah Lion - Negus Dub / Good Relations Featuring Jimmy Lindsay - What You Gonna Do (Dub)

Couldn't find any info about it, anyone know anything ? Any chance for a vinyl release ?

yeah this caught my eye too, and perhaps the two biggest tunes on there are both out on a 7 repress
Makka Bees - Nation Fiddler /
Jah Lion - Melody For Negus
both available at Jons

Those two are killers for sure......just the way i like it!

i just listened to "Nation fiddler", of course a great tune. but the sound quality seems to be below par. but i still hope to get my hands on this cd if it ever should reach europe.

thanks for the info Marin. I thought the 90s 7" was a reissue, perhaps not. Lovely tune, I got mine from Ting like you say.

The Twin Roots had an alternative version of Know Love released on Congo Records. Is that this Congo label or a different one? The mix is different than the one on Trojan's Open The Gate collection but still obviously done by Scratch.

Different label, that one was 70's, JA. This one is a UK label. Omar grew up in Canterbury, Kent, my other half was at school with him, though she never met Omar Senior who produced this stuff.
