Clean dub of 'No Lollipop no Sweet So' riddim?

Postby naram » Fri Apr 19, 2013 12:16 am

Hey folks

I'm really keen to get a dubplate cut on this classic Roots Radics riddim: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UH1Bj_sfu3Q

However the only songs ever recorded on the riddim - as far as I'm aware - are Captain Sinbad's 'Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger', Johnny Osbourne's 'No lollipop no sweet so' and Eek-a-mouse's 'Crime'. And the only dub version I'm aware of is a Scientist cut that still has lingering vocals from Johnny Osbourne.

Does anyone know if there are any clean instrumental versions of this riddim out there?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is only the dub, you need to cut it up and paste in parts where the vocal exists, that is standard procedure for riddims like this

OK thanks for that Rootsman, I thought about doing that - but I assumed it would sound a bit disjointed - especially with the trail of echoes and that getting abrubtly cut. But will give it a shot. I suppose I could dub it out myself a bit though to get some continuity.

I'm pretty new to the dubplate game - and am finding getting clean riddims a bit of a challenge...

It's hard to do such a classic riddm justice though Marty/Thomas!
