Exodus different cuts

Postby oldsko0l » Tue Apr 09, 2013 7:34 pm

Hello!
Bob marley - Exodus
Massive tune, of which I've been loving the long version on the original LP.
I was wondering which different cuts this song has?
Thanks :)

Does someone know if the so called "monitor mix" ever came out on any vinyl?

I was never too concerned with next mixes of this tune as I was with having a dub version. Luckily there's one on the Island 12". Black label. Dat Chalawa is MAD! Too bad it's LP.
From a youth reggae inna me bloodstream, now a man reggae inna me system! From a boy reggae was my first joy, now a man reggae still number one!

It's on CD with Uprising In Dub or maybe you mean too bad it's not on 7/12"??

I don't mind their cut of Exodus & a couple of others but the rest sounds pretty corny imho :(

The Chalawa Exodus Dub cover album was a Canadian/Toronto production,

Chalawa was a T.O. outfit, I think I met one of the guys back in the day....

I realise this is this being too obvious, but I can't imagine a heavier cut than the instrumental version on the back of the original Tuff Gong 7".

an interesting one came on white label 7" featuring Sandeeno's 'Worthy to be praised' vocal over digital sample-based mixes of Exodus. Dub version is pretty good and heavy. But I am sure Peter is right about the original Tuff Gong 7".

Sandeeno piece is great too. If i remember right there is more vocal cuts to this digital sample(?) based mystic Exodus 7" release.

There was another piece by Top Cat called No Justice on this set of 7s- produced by I think Joe Grine/9 lives I think-sure there is a third cut one this particular batch of 7s but can't think of the title at the moment

none of the Monitor Mixes was ever officially released

in my (I admit, massive) BMW collection I have so far been able to identify nine different vocal and four different dub mixes, not including the so called advert mixes and the Cha Lawa version
