Too Late To Turn Back Now

Postby Frontline Bwoy » Sun Mar 31, 2013 2:42 pm

I recorded this 12" B side in the mid 1980s. Can anyone identify the artist?

I have ruled out Carlton Patterson, Augustus Pablo, Impact All Stars, Jackie Mittoo, Don Carlos, Otis Brothers and of course Alton Ellis.

Please excuse the photo in the video - has nothing to do with the tune.

that's alton ellis :).. except it's not the 12 'It's too late to turn back now'' on Altone 12 inch (which I coincidentally got here at home)
thank you putting this on here- best reggae track ever, apart from most bob marley tracks

Hi, thanks for your replies.

I ruled out Alton Ellis because of this, which is credited to him:

... Does anyone know whether Alton re-recorded this tune?

i am pretty sure alton ellis recorded that tune more than a couple of times. i was just listening to an impact! 7" with this song by him and i am pretty sure that wasnt an original recording (could be though?). anyway i think this tune youre asking about is definately alton ellis, sure sounds like him anyway.

one love

Yes, that's Alton Ellis. It's the version he did for Fashion records that they released on a 12".
Here's a Fashion 12" discography...http://fashionrecordsreggae.blogspot.co.uk/p/12.html

Hi Dave,

Thank you very much for that. So now I begin the quest to get a decent recording of Alton Ellis' 'Too Late' on Fashion 12", FAD 013 sides A & B to replace the very tired 30 year old 2nd generation tape copy that I have!

If anyone can help, please let me know. Any format considered, willing to buy or trade. Thanks.
