Listen to albums online?

Postby Perka » Fri Dec 10, 2004 4:12 pm

What's the address to the website where you can listen to reggaealbums, choose which songs you want to hear online?

http://www.amazon.com have sound samples of albums.

Also http://niceup.com - the reggae Jammin Archives have samples of new albums.

Soundquake and Selector's Choice from Germany have samples of new and recent 45s:

There's also a legal MP3 download site that can be found at:

They have complete albums as well as individual tunes, seems to be mostly on the dancehall side though. Sound samples are available for each tune as well.[/url]

The best site for legal reggae downloads is emusic.
They have a lot of roots albums from shanachie, ras, motion and other labels.

I had a subscription when they still offered unlimited downloads for a flat rate. It was great, I was just starting out with reggae and I got so many classic albums.
But this is besides the point as none of these replies really answer Perka's question.

I will have to check out the selection at emusic - if it is reasonably priced it might be worthwhile to fill in some gaps in my collection. Though actually I have never downloaded any music to date, I guess I like owning the physical disc with the covers and liner notes etc.

The Cyber Reggae site is attractive because they offer individual songs (many only otherwise available on vinyl or on compilation type albums where you have to buy the whole thing to get the one or two songs you want), and every tune is only 99 cents. Unfortunately I haven't had much luck with their payment system (it keeps giving me error messages despite all my information being correct), so I haven't been able to download any tunes from there yet.

With all these replies hopefully the original question has been answered! I kind of have a feeling it was either the Cyber Reggae or the Jammin' Reggae site Perka was referring to.
