A really smoochy Isley Brothers tune is easing me through a very dark, cold morning...

Nice one James -- I love those tunes, but I don't know why, they make me feel deeply depressed if I play tunes like Bohannon, Isleys Bros, Pickett, Neville Bros etc in the early hours...I dunno why! They just seem to have an awe-ful lonely poignancy in the early hours! ( But then they sound sweet to me by 10..00 or 11.00 in the morning! )

Cheers,

Mario Gregory.

Mario, for real heartbreak I find Ann Sexton's the one. There's this catch or shade to her voice that before you know it can have you sobbing on the carpet

I've read very good reviews for this. What's your opinion, Mario?

pluto, i think its good, but something is missing...some spark of originality perhaps? It's certainly worth a listen though, for sure -- it has a strong bass tone, quite fresh, and roots meditation lyrics.
