Carlton & The Shoes - Never Let Go

Postby skunkride » Thu Feb 03, 2005 12:04 am

Is there a dub or instrumental cut of this tune on any of Studio One dub sets ? Did it ever came on 7" ?

Thanks <>

I didn't know there was a carlton and the shoes tune called "never let go" - if we're talking about "never give your heart away" it came out on 12" and 7".....

Never Let Go is a bonus song on the CD reissue of Love Me Forever.

It is the same rythm as Slim Smith's Never Let Go? If so there is a lot of dub/instrumental verions: The Answer (Music Lab 10") and Answer Dub ( Jucks Incorporation part 1) + more. You'll find them at Ernie B.

mmmm yes I see now! I haven't heard it - is it "from the time" or more recent?

I'd say it's "from the time". Very nice tune.

I do not have the bonus track on Love Me Forever, but if it is Slim Smith's Never Let Go it is a soulful Studio One killer from around the late 60's .

You'll find it on the Born To Love LP . I think the 7" is hard to find (?)

Anyone who knows if the original Never Let Go is by Slim Smith, or if it is ripped from a US soul tune or similar?

Apart from the title, it is a completely different tune but equally great.

ok, sorry for the mixup with Slim Smith & thanks for the clear-up.

Thanks for the tune sample skunkride - hope someone can help you out with your question.

Seems like I have to get myself a second copy of the great Love Me Forever album if this tune not is available on single...

don`t know this SO cut but they relicked it later as `Forever and Always` which came on Yvonne`s Special 12" (circa late 70`s i guess) good version too.
