Dreadest Reggae Tunes Ever

Postby Angel Gabriel » Wed Jan 26, 2005 7:46 pm

Ok..I normally do not post such questions in forums..but I thought of this question as I was walking back to work from trip to the record shop.

What is the dreadest reggae tune ever? I know there are more than one..probably over 1000 songs could fit..but as I ponder this question for myself..I thought it would be interesting to get everyone else's input since most of you are serious reggae mavens..

Here are my two suggestions..everyone else..feel free to add..

Door Peep - Burning Spear

Satta - Abbysinians

Hell yeah, forgot Invasion and also Red, Gren & Gold and Institution...

also Horace Andy - Every Tongue Will Tell and The Terrors - Assemble Not Thyself for slightly different but equally "dread" vibe...

Not sure if it's the dreadest tune ever but Horace Andy's Zoin Gate always gets me. There's so much emotion in his singing that at times it sounds like he's about to, or is crying.
