Unfortunately the photograph accompanying the Bob Marley writing had been destroyed by ants and rats beyond recognition

yup greedypuppy and jb have the fullproof strategy. Start off with the highest amount you'd be willing to pay. If you lose out, then you would have paid over the amount you were wanting to pay...no biggie.

Ebay isn't bad if you know your limits

Postby vasceri » Wed Jan 26, 2005 11:06 pm

Ebay is hit or miss. I used to bid on items right away if I saw them, but that just drew attention to the auction early, and as stated above, causes the record to probably close at a higher price. Now I just put the item in my "watch list" and ebay sends a email when your "watched" item is winding down, then I make a bid if it is still within my means.

All in all, I personally like ebay because I know what records I want and how much I want to spend.

I recently picked up Bunny Lie Lie/Lee Van Cliff "Who Cork the Dance" (JB Music 12") for under 5 pounds

and "Five Man Army" (Oak Sound 12") for under 7 pounds, so the deals are there, you just have to be patient and not get into a "One Up" war once the auction passes your mark.

One love and good luck digging!!

BMC,

I think the only reason I got it for so cheap was because the 'A' side was scratched off and the seller had it listed under the 'B' side. So unless someone recognized the 'B' side, it went relatively unchecked. I think I might have been the only bidder on that one.

Skunkride,

I think a certain Jah Bill has a copy of Five Man Army. I am speaking out of line, but an inquiry might lead to a trade or sale. I've bought records off him before and they have always been in top shape.

Anyhow, good luck to both of you. If I see those records again, I'll try and point you both in the right direction.

One love

Would you check that for me, jb? I'm interested in that 12" on JB (with the Van Cliff toats). Thanks.
