The Hurricanes?

Postby gmtPlus9 » Fri Jan 21, 2005 10:40 am

Hi All...

Listening to Lee Perry's Africa's Blood today and was wondering if anyone has information about The Hurricanes who perform 'Isn't It Wrong' on the LP. Thanks...

Don't know anything about them but they also have a widely available 7" Perry-produced vocal/dub called 'You Can Run' - grab it if you see it!

not of much help but look out for a tune called "you can run" which is the vocal part to young dillinger's "mid east rock"

actually in dave katz `people funny boy` it quotes the hurricanes as led by danny clarke along with lloyd forrester and `a guy from trenchtown named dennis`... which seems to have been a prototype of the meditations....pfb also says that danny clarke had a brief spell with winston jarrett in the righteous flames !

hmm yes very convincing...but...it ain`t winston jarrett singing lead on `you can run` though, but it does sound to me like the guy danny clarke (later of meditations)...if you can tell me otherwise then strike one for you and a slap for me !

respx for the research though.
