Radio 1 - 2 hour Trojan special

It lasts about 2 hours or so. This is a repeat of a One World show from a last year. Its a nice easy history of reggae with some advertorial Trojan content...

I tried this but got a history of the Sugarhill label. Was I too late?

if you listened to that sugarhill special did they go into the connection with on-u sound? i believe a number of on-u players (skip mcdonald for one?) were instrumental (pun intended) with the labels history.

All 3 members of the Sugarhill Gang backing band (Skip McDonald, Doug Wimbish, Keith LeBlanc) formed Tackhead alongside Adrian Sherwood plus various other groups (i.e. Strange Parcels, Little Axe) and have contributed to lots of On-U Sound releases (to almost every release since the early 90s).

so did they go into that pluto? ive read a few stories about sugarhill gang and they never mention on-u sound nor ams. im just wondering if the media is more sophisticated in the UK than the USA.

Well, the Sugarhill Gang label reached its peak in the late 70s/early 80s - the On-U Sound connections happenned during the mid to late 80s after Sugarhill stopped releasing new stuff (I think).

So it's pretty normal you can read more about the links with Sugarhill Gang on Sherwood/On-U articles and not vice versa...
