Giab, I have "Fire Bun" & "Every Ready" by Ghetto Priest on Reggae On Top (nice rootsy tunes, btw!). Was there a third one?

Jah Bill, I'm pretty sure that I've included both Ghetto Priest tunes on a CD I sent you a couple of months ago with Sound Boy singles and other stuff (alongside the rare "On-U Sound Live In Warsaw" disc).

Ash wrote:Never Trust a Hippie,now thats worth buying,imo.

"Never Trust A Hippy" is a very interesting & adventurous project, but not as ahead-of-its-time and mind-blowing as African Head Charge's "Songs Of Praise" from 1990 which is the definitive world-music-meets-reggae-meets-dub album ever released imo!

As Jah Bill pointed out, Ghetto Priest's "Vulture Culture" from last year is fantastic as is the latest Little Axe album released on Real World a few months ago ("Champagne & Grits") - the two best albums On-U Sound has produced since its re-activation in 2001, imo again.

Barry Isaac, Ras I, Eli Emanuel, Amhari & Ghetto Priest - Judgement 7"
yes, Songs Of Praise was mind blowing at the time

The best On-U Sound album was Singers & Players' War of Words, feat Bim Sherman, no contest.

I stand by my above assertion that Singers and Players' War of Words is the best On-U Sound/Sherwood album, but by heck - Threat to Creation by Creation Rebel/New Age Steppers with Keith Levene on spare but slashing and corruscating guitar comes a damn close second - really giving it a speaker bashing right now.

Anyone know of more Sherwood/Levene collaborations?

Apart from "Threat To Creation" & "War Of Words", he played guitar on one track on Dub Syndicate's "Tunes From The Missing Channel" (1985) & on the classic "Wadada (Means Love)" track sampling Prince Far I (to be found on Dub Syndicate's "Stoned Immaculate" album). There could be more, though...

Btw, "Leaps & Bounds" is my favourite Singers & Players album (featuring mainly Congo Ashanti Roy), but all of them are very good.

 Might be posting an On-U Top 10 list later if I find the time...

Cheers, JB! Those best of SNWMF 2003 & 2004 discs were great too!

I'll probably be crucified by the Perry fanatics for saying this but everything Scratch recorded post-Ark is **** :D

Though I do quite like the lyric "I am an elephant from outer space living in a suitcase" :D

And I did buy the "Upsetter And The Beat" CD on Heartbeat, but it was only seven quid and I bought it blind on the basis that it was Scratch back at Studio 1 after all those years....

Respect
