I've recently rigged up a small transmitter for my iPod. Its only got a 30 metre range, but I've been having fun putting roots on in cafes, my neighbour's flat, shopping centres etc...

here is something to keep in mind in the USA...there was a proposal for low power, no license broadcasting all ready to go and pre-approved by the FCC.

problem is, our illustrious "public" radio network, NPR, lobbyed it out of existance using YOUR money (PBS is supposedly non profit, listener supported) because it "might" interfere with them and their broadcasting.

bloody ****. boycott PBS and NPR both. they speak with forked tongue and care only about themselves (no big surprise really) and dont care a bit about anyones "freedom" to broadcast.

remember this the next time youre subjected to one of the far-too-many begathons that center around separating you from your money in the name of "public" broadcasting. also one might note whose bread they are buttering...when wars break out, PBS (at least our local affilate) "coincidentally" start playing all these programs about the glory of war and how cool the war toys are. i suspect they got an agenda here.

That post of yours Bill was pretty depressing. I have always held PBS and NPR on a pedistal.
I can remember driving across the US and back in 1993 in a tape deck-less van and could always rely on Paul Harvey and company for the only sane listening coast to coast in a sea of Rush Limbaugh ****.
As for PBS, well aside from growing up on The Electric Company, Zoom, etc I have always been a big fan of the Ken Burns documentaries they show. But i guess the board of directors don't want competition and fear a loss of donations if their already shrunken ratings were to shrink anymore. Sad.

They board your ship and steal your dubloons and ****.

They drink too much rum.

Very Annoying Parrots.

Always yelling "Arrr!" to no-one in particular.

I could go on.

On the plus side, they do literally prop up the peg leg industry.
