A: Braggin' & tryin' not to lie - Roddy 'Radiation' Byers
- Is a Rock 'n' Roll track. Paul Heskett was the sax player from Jerry Dammers' girlfriend (Val's) band, The Swinging Cats (who had a 2 Tone 7", 'Away' b/w 'Mantovani'.
B: Rude boys outa jail - act. Neville Staples in his Judge Dread persona, Judge Roughneck. The song is a sprawling, rambling version of the tune on 'More Specials', itself a re-working of The Clarendonians' 1966 Ska song, 'Rude boy gone jail'.
As mentioned, it was a freebie, given away with The Specials second LP, and is worth about a fiver in Mint condition.
The rarest 2 Tone 7" is the one by Elvis Costello that was withdrawn & handed out at gigs (TTL7, the cat. no. which was later re-used for the chart-topping Special AKA live EP).
Charlie 2 Tone
'Come 'ere croffy-back - This is a summit meeting f'or the dead Reggae King' (Freddie Notes & The Rudies, 1970)
