From an old cassette of a Bradford pirate radio station - excellent roots programme - dunno dj, but he had some good discs!

Alan Kingpin? is what the dj says, or so it sounds.
He definitely says Ariwa Records, title could be 'Little Jimmy'?
Heavy brooding roots, with an irresistibly and monstrously repetitive bass line, male singer, lyrics about "why did little Jimmy have to enslave another'' - leads into spoken/chanted piece with biblical quotations - 'blessed is the man that walks... rivers of water that ... shall prosper ... the way of the ungodly"

What is it and where can I get it?

Grand BMC - now, has anyone heard that album - (Alan) Kingpin - 'Letter from Jail' and what's the rest of it like?
Is there a 12", and if so, anyone selling or trading?

By the way, it was Rebel FM and DJ Jonathan, in case he's still around. Probably late 80s/early 90s.

There was no 12" - LP track only, although, sshhh, Shaka did run it on dub plate at the time. Imo, there's some other good tracks on the LP, "Where Is Jah" - recut of The Regulars tune - Kingpin was their singer at one time - "Sheba's Verandah", "Daughter Of Israel", the rest of the tracks though veer a bit too much towards lovers territory for my liking. Non of them sound remotely like "Little Jimmy" either - that track definitely stands out! Also worth checking, if you can find it, is an earlier Ariwa 10" of his called "Little Black Bombo".

"Little Jimmy" is from 1990, btw!
